Immediate Past Foundation Chair, Michael Leichtling, presents the award to co-authors Stephen Patterson and Phil Rosenblatt.
At the ELFA’s annual Legal Forum, the Journal of Equipment Lease Financing Article of the Year award was presented to Philip R. Rosenblatt, Stephen J. Patterson, and Richard S. Rosenstein, who co-wrote the article, The Impact of Bundling on Equipment Lease Syndications from the Purchaser’s Perspective. The award was presented by Immediate Past Foundation Chair, Michael A. Leichtling, Esq, Partner of Troutman Sanders LLP.
The Journal of Equipment Lease Finance, the Foundation’s signature publication, is published three times a year, online, and contains articles written by industry experts, academics and summaries of Foundation-commissioned research. Articles undergo peer review by the Journal's Editorial Review Board. The Board also votes each year, via secret ballot, for one article to be awarded the prestigious Article of the Year award.
Their winning article, which appeared in the Fall 2008 issue, discusses the practice of bundling equipment acquisition financing with services and supply contracts. It explains that the incremental risks that come with purchasing a bundled transaction must be properly understood and appropriately allocated.
The authors are with the Boston-based law firm of Nutter, McClennen & Fish, LLP. Philip R. Rosenblatt is a partner in the business department, where he co-chairs the firm’s commercial finance group. Stephen Patterson is a partner, whose practice focuses on commercial finance. Richard S. Rosenstein is senior of counsel practicing in the business department.
The Journal’s Editorial Review Board is always seeking articles and article topics. Please e-mail ideas to Lisa Levine, the Foundation director, at llevine@elfaonline.org.
The revised version of the 2008 Article of the Year is available at our library.
