Foundation Sees Corporate Gift Increase

Posted 08/28/07

The Foundation has always enjoyed loyal and dedicated donor support. But, as the Foundation’s plan called for a greater number of research studies to be produced to fill an ever-increasing need for more thoughtful, strategic data, greater donations were naturally sought to pay for the expanded “docket.” Fortunately, the donor community heard the call.

“In our case, our corporate donation increased recently as a recognition that the Foundation over the last few years has really stepped up its quality and quantity of research they have been producing,” said Foundation Trustee Rick Remiker, Merrill Lynch Capital – EF. “We wanted to further fund their important work and recognize the progress made with all the products, from the Journal of Equipment Lease Finance to the most in-depth, large scale studies.”

Remiker noted the Industry Future Council reports were “particularly well done, timely and thought-provoking the last few years.”

Tom Forbes, ORIX USA Corporation - Commercial Finance, says their company also increased its donation recently. Said Forbes, “We are committed to the industry, and it’s imperative we have a resource like the Foundation to help guide us. We must stay ahead of the sea changes our industry has undergone, and define our market.”

Lisa Levine, Foundation Executive Director, who reports several other corporate donors increased the size of their donations in the last few months, said, “Really, no donation is too small. But, it is gratifying when a donor increases their giving level. It shows that they believe we are a good investment for their donation dollars and we are hitting the mark with our research products.”

Remiker also pointed out that while his corporation donates regularly, a number of employees contribute individually. “That is strong recognition that the Foundation is doing something very well.”
