Michael Leichtling and Madelyn Law Given “Excellence in Leasing” Award

Active Foundation leaders, Michael Leichtling of Troutman Sanders LLP and Lyn Law of Dell Financial Service, were bestowed the annual "Excellence in Leasing" award for their outstanding contributions and service to the industry in the field of equipment leasing and finance law. The award was presented at the May ELFA Legal Forum.
Mike Leichtling is the current Chairman of the Foundation and a former member of ELFA's Board of Directors. He has served on the Legal Committee and for two years was Chairman of its Amicus Curiae Subcommittee. He is one of the drafters of the ELFA White Paper "Legal Principles Underlying Commercial Businesses' Access to Equipment Leasing and Finance" (which deals with the Norvergence case), has been a panelist on many Legal Forum programs, and is active in many industry matters.
Lyn Law is a two-time member of ELFA Legal Committee, and a former Chair. She has been a member of various Subcommittees, and a frequent Legal Forum panelist. She served as a member of Task Force that revised ELFA's Code of Fair Business Practices and adopted the Principles of Fair Business Practices. As an enthusiastic contributor to special legal and legislative projects, Law has also been involved in various technology-related matters, most recently as a member of the Foundation's Steering Committee to oversee development of its just-published study on paperless transactions.
Michael Leichtling said, “The award is wonderful, but I just feel privileged being able to be part of this group. Both the Foundation and the Association are built on the efforts of so many volunteers on so many levels – working on meetings, research, fundraising and visibility efforts. My time with both organizations is gratifying, and I have learned so much about the industry from the networking and interacting with the other participants.”
