FOUNDATION FORECAST

May/ June 2007

Message From Director
It's time! The equipment leasing and finance industry has undergone seismic shifts in recent years, and the Foundation is ready to help bring understanding and planning for the future. For the first time ever, a study determining the depth and breadth of the equipment finance market is being commissioned along with a separate study on the motivations and key influencing factors behind capital acquisitions in businesses of all sizes. Both studies, available this summer, will help lead the way to making better and more strategic decisions among industry members Ð the cornerstone of our research mission. And (if you haven't heard!), we are 100% donor supported, so your contributions help make these projects – growing ever important in the changing landscape – robust and relevant. Thank you donors!

Lisa A. Levine, CAE
Executive Director

Due to growing demand for Foundation research, the organization's Web site has been revised and retooled to better serve the industry. "In order to better serve our constituency, we decided to post certain portions of the Foundation's research directly on the site," said Lisa Levine, "This makes the Foundation site more user-friendly and useful. Today, the site doesn't just offer the ability to gain access to our research, but rather provides more direct access to findings."

Jumping on the Bandwagon: Foundation Donations Pay Dividends
The Foundation, 100 percent donor supported, has enjoyed growing success in the area of fundraising. But, as the awareness of the industry's place in the U.S. economy rises, so does the need for more and deeper research to help guide the way into taking advantage of the opportunities that are growing and changing with the industry's trajectory.

The Foundation, with more new and pending projects than any time in its 18 year history, has set the bar even higher for donations this year.

"Donors are really participants in the Foundation's projects. They are investors," said Leichtling. "By giving, they are making the Foundation's work possible, which is the only source of unbiased, intellectually honest analysis on this industry."
